"Raid passes should be used to access the rewards, not the raid."

#PokemonGO: So today we had a pretty common recurring situation. Even with organised discord/facebook groups appearing to fight raids, it was inevitable that some people would complete the raid before others, and some randoms would also be trying to do the raid and struggling to complete it.In my mind there's no negative to allowing people to join and help raid battles without a raid pass. It would provide zero rewards for the helpers, and they would be costed in revives and potions. The advantage is that it helps people struggling to take down raids and get the rewards. The system could work by prompting the player to use a raid pass when entering a raid, if they chose not to do then they don't receive any rewards for completing the boss, and they aren't able to try and catch the pokemon afterwards. As it is, it's very difficult for people to complete higher level raids in ones and twos even if there are other pokemon go players around that want to help. This would also help a secondary issue where the two minute prep timer is too short if there are lots of random people failing to beat a raid. It results in random players being split up. If the current system remains the same then the prep timer should be boosted to 4-5 minutes so that all players at the raid end up in the same public group. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2sNA132
