"Today was a good Pokemon day."

#PokemonGO: TL;DR: Met cool people, finally evolved a Gyarados, hatched ~18 eggs and added 7 to my dex, catching a Hitmonchan and Snorlax in the wild!I think today was probably my most productive PokemonGo day ever. I had been saving up 9 10k eggs so that I could hatch them all at once and that's what I set off to do today. I dropped the wife off at work and then made my way to a park I'd heard about that is also apparently a Magicarp nest. I wanted some place where I could walk around a lot and boy did this place deliver. It was a beautiful sunny day (Colorado) and this park has a huge central lake with several pokestops and gyms surrounding it.I probably spent about 3 hours just wandering the trails, seeing wildlife and chatting with the occasional fellow park-goer. Magicarps where pretty much everywhere and as the day wore on loads of other PokemonGo players showed up all looking for shiny carps. During a rest I spent maybe twenty minutes chatting with two girls playing PoGo and sitting on a bench overlooking the lake also looking for shinies. A little while after that is when I finally hit the 10k on my 9 eggs and hatched them all simultaneously. Got myself 2 Dratini, 1 Chansey, 2 Mantines, a Eevee, Skarmory, Mareep, and Pineco. Overall it was kind of so-so as I had everything but the Pineco, but the Chancy and two Dratinis were very nice as I have yet to get a Blissey or Dragonite (I'm a level 27 scrub). After I hatched my eggs I decided to leave the park and tally my Magicarp catch, which ended up being something like 50, more than enough for a Gyarados (Finally!!).Seeing as I still had a few hours to burn, I brought myself to a Squirtle nest nearby, caught myself several to being within 1 from my Blastoise and also hatched a few more eggs, netting myself a Pichu. Just as I was about to leave, I saw a Hitmonchan silhouette on a nearby pokestop and nearly sprinted there as I'd never seen one in my entire time playing, not even in a gym! Managed to catch him on the first ball.Even if my poke-adventures had ended here it would have been a great day, but after picking up the wife from work, heading home and making dinner, I decided to do one more small outing in my neighborhood. I live pretty rurally, so there's not a lot to my town. A couple gyms, fewer pokestops and pretty lackluster pokemon in general, but as soon as I step out my door towards the nearby gym which has been perpetually owned by Valor since I moved in 3 months ago; A Snorlax spawned. Holy crap! Here? I'd Never been able to hatch one and never seen one in the wild and there it was in my crappy neighborhood. Managed to catch him too, with a decent CP (1600) and IV.After that I walked my way to the gym, hatching two more eggs and getting a Tyrogue (another addition to the dex). After taking down the gym, which is a feat in of itself since I am level 27 and the people owning this place are in the low-mid 30s I decided to walk a few more Ks before heading home to hatch a couple more eggs. Managed to complete another couple 10k eggs and got another Snorlax, even higher CP and better IV.Pretty crazy day overall. I think I walked something like 25 - 30km in total, probably got a little sun burnt, but had a blast. I met a lot of cool people at the parks (shout-out if you're out there reading!), added a bunch to my dex, and got some staple pokemon I have been missing out on for quite awhile. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2qIAssu
