"Niantic should look at the day *after* Go Fest when planning future events"
#PokemonGO: Some of you probably read my tale of woe from Go Fest yesterday - hours in line, hours in the fest, never once got the app to load. Had to leave town without ever spinning a stop and entering my code, found on while on the train home that they extended the radius.Well through the kindness of strangers and some benevolent force for good I was able to make the three hour trip back to Chicago today and had the best day of Pokemon Go-ing ever.Which brings me to my point - what I experienced today was what I think all of us hoped that Go Fest would be. There were trainers everywhere in downtown Chicago, grouping up at gyms to fight legendaries, calling out good spawns, and generally celebrating the game. Unlike my time in Butler field yesterday there was plenty of space to move around (and get into the shade when necessary). I met so many people who were having a wonderful time, a sharp contrast to what occurred yesterday.I really think that Niantic should consider this style of event in the future. Spread out over several miles in a city with plenty of space to roam. It reduces the load on any one cell tower/provider and would eliminate the issues with lines to get in (and out). They could still have a "festival center" with a stage and merch, or even multiple areas of that spread throughout the zone.In short, I think through the disaster that was Go Fest, Niantic may have actually hit upon the right way to go about these large scale gatherings. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2upDmpF
