"Catching Legendaries: For Those Who Struggle"

#PokemonGO: PatienceThis can't be emphasized enough--HAVE PATIENCE. I can't tell you how many people I've seen blow through all 10 or 11 of their balls before I'm even through 4. And this blows my mind but this includes popular YouTubers like Reversal, Mystic7, StraightupKnives, and even Trainer Tips. There is an optimal window to throw a ball where you will hit the target 99% of the time. Guaranteed. It doesn't mean you'll catch it, but at least you won't miss. More on this later. The ThrowCurve the ball. It's one of the biggest catch modifiers. If you're not curving the ball you're really hurting your chances. And I get it, not everyone knows how to throw a perfect curve. Practice. Trust me, it's worth it. You'll get the hang of it in a few days.Additional ModifiersMake sure you're using Golden razz berries. Do your best to have gold medals in the Pokémon type you're trying to catch. I realize this is easier said than done but if you're 5 Pokémon away from your fire medal go get those 5 Pokémon. And lastly, aim for Greats. Yes, Greats. Excellents are better but Greats are easier to get consistently. Trust me, go for Greats. The WindowThis is the most important part! There is a window for each Pokémon near the end of their attack animation that the ball needs to be thrown in. For Tyranitar it was when his head dipped. For Moltres it's when he's at the bottom and he's about half a second from finishing that swooping motion. The ball should be in the air before he stops. If you curve it, that extra flight time gets you exactly what you need to land a hit right as he stops his attack animation. I've landed every ball I've thrown but one, and that's because I overthrew. This is the golden window. Don't throw when Moltres is near the top of the screen. Don't throw as he's ascending or descending. Only throw when he's half a second from finishing his swooping attack animation.Be patient. That's the best advice I can give. I almost always finish last, but my catch rate on Legendaries is just a touch under 80%. This works. Good luck, trainers! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2vmEg8X
