"Halloween - Excitement, Preparation, and Speculation"

#PokemonGO: While scrolling through posts this morning, I was reminded of the very first PoGO event: Halloween 2016. That was the first one, right? Anyway, I remember being SO excited about that one. I caught Gastly everywhere I went and hoarded all the wonderful double candy. I also hatched my first Lapras during the event. It was great from start to finish.And now that the stores are stocking up on costumes, yard decorations, and giant bags of candy, I thought we could discuss how best to prepare for Halloween 2017.Coins - I think us FTP (or mostly FTP) players should stock up on coins. Niantic has made a habit of releasing special bundles in the shop during events. They are usually worth buying.Items - Candy and Halloween are a natural fit, and I would be surprised if Niantic didn't repeat the double candy aspect of last year's event. I think preparation to take advantage of this would include timing your 10k eggs to hatch during the event. Also, Go+ users will want to make every effort to never run out of regular Pokeballs so you can keep pushing the button wherever you go.XP - IIRC, we had double XP during last year's Halloween event. (Thanks u/awsomntbiker for the correction.) It's probably wise to hold off on any lucky egg/mass evolve sessions in the weeks leading up to Halloween (if we get an XP bonus) so you can take advantage of the 4x XP bonus instead. Go+ users will likewise benefit from not going ham on that button in the days leading up to the event in order to ensure constant supply of Pokeballs during the event.Now, how about a little speculation? I think it's safe to say that Misdreavous would be an obvious addition to the common spawns during a new Halloween event. Any other Gen2 species that would be likely additions?I think it's safe to assume we'll be coming down from the Mewtwo raid hype by the end of October. I'm wondering if we could see raids integrated into the Halloween event in some way.And veering more into "It would be neat if", I think it would be fun to allow "spooky" mons to have increased stats when used as gym defenders during the event to promote their usage. Or maybe some themed Team Rocket raids where a gym gets taken over by some of TR's mons and those who defeat TR get a special Halloween reward.What else might we expect this Halloween, aside from higher blood sugar levels? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2xubBxp
