"I am missing out on legendaries, but i'm fine with that (rural player experience-story time)"

#PokemonGO: First of all, as the title suggests, i live in a very rural area, meaning a town with 3 gyms and 4 stops in total. I used to be the lone wolf, playing always alone, completing the dex including unown thanks to crazy spawns on hike trails, and leveling up to 34 with barely meeting other players at all. But with the legendaries rolling out, i met an old friend from primary school playing the game aswell, and he told me that he knew some people from our town who are playing Pokemon Go. At the last day of Articuno spawning in Germany, he send me a message saying i should come to the raid as he told some other Players aswell. We ended up being 18 people on the raid, which i never thought was possible in our small town. We beat Articuno and i managed to catch it. All the players afterwards agreed to create a Whatsapp group for Raids in our town, and that was when my Pokemon Go experience changed. The only thing i cared about now was Raids with the other people from my town, and so we met in our small city with groups of 4 or groups up to 20 people whenever a good raid spawned. I learned their names and became friends with most of them, which was a Pokemon Go experience i missed, but wished for since day one. Because of the small amount of Gyms in our town, only a few legendaries spawned until now, and i didnt catch a moltres after 3 succesful raids, and i didnt catch a lugia after 2. I didnt want to drive to the next big city ( a 40 minute drive) just to do 10 raids in a row with people ive never met and will never see again. But i didnt even bother at that point, because meeting up with all these awesome Pokemon Go friends was an amazing experience. I dont mind if i missed the only chance to catch a moltres, or a lugia, or if i will miss further chances to catch legendaries in the future. I always cheer with those who caught it, event though i had bad luck when trying to catch the same legendary. In addition to that, having so little chances to catch a legendary, makes the one you caught far more valuable for yourself. Legendary raids or raids in general gave me the best Pokemon Go experience ive ever had.TLDR; Raids are a great thing for rural players aswell, even if you dont catch 100 legendaries. Thanks for that, Niantic. Honestly,A grateful rural playerEdit: First Post aswell, sorry for disobeying reddit rules ( if there are any ) and for bad english, since its not my mothertongue. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2vod3lK
