"Rare Candy has already spoiled hunting in Gen III and we just haven't seen it yet"

#PokemonGO: Good morning TSR,I was thinking about how yesterday some Mewtwo were released in Yokohama and within an hour there were caught and fully maxed out Mewtwo in some player's inventory. It got my thinking about how Gen III will be wildly different from Gen II and the reason is Rare Candy.Rare Candy is just not that rare. Every single raid seems to yield at least a little and sometimes they yield a lot! And when Gen III comes out there will be players sitting on a bunch of it, especially TSR players who plan ahead or those who pay to raid a lot. When those players catch or hatch one single Aron, Bagon or Beldum they'll be able to spend that rare candy to immediately have fully evolved forms that same hour. The same day we see Gen III debut we'll begin to immediately see Aggron, Salamence, Metagross and other intended to be rare Pokemon in gyms. Instead of having to hunt for weeks for the actually rare and necessary 'mon to evolve them we've all been given a not rare resource that we can use to just skip to the end. You no longer need to "catch 'em all". You just need to catch or hatch one.The truly unfortunate part about this is it means that, in a way, the game is already shifting to be being truly pay-to-win. If you pay to buy raid passes you can guarantee a steady supply of rare candy. Stardust will still be a bottleneck, but you can pay to buy Incubators too.Rare Candy is a very powerful resource and as I look into the future of the game I'm afraid they've made it too powerful. Or, perhaps more accurately, they never made it truly rare enough. Thanks for reading and Happy Hunting. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2fHPCyD
