"What's the ultimate defensive line-up?"

#PokemonGO: Although defence is distinctly less important now than in the past, I still take pride in having and levelling some optimal defenders and wonder what the ultimate team of six would look like. The challenge: Create a line-up of six different Pokemon who would cause an attacking team of six the most damage and difficulty. The ultimate goal would be to create a team that would faint the attacking team before each defender has been beaten once (as unlikely as this really is now). Assume all defenders are maxed out with full motivation. Legacy movesets and mixed legacy allowed.I would choose, in order:First: Snorlax (Zen Headbutt/Body Slam):The ultimate balance between longevity and damage on defence. Likely to do some serious damage to the first attacker.Second: Blissey (Zen Headbutt/Dazzling Gleam): An endurance test, especially if the first attacker is a fighting type seriously damaged by the Snorlax before.Third: Exeggutor (Confusion/Seed Bomb): Despite being countered effectively by dark and fire types, this move combo can be pretty devastating.Fourth: Gyarados (Dragon Tail/Twister): Probably the most controversial choice, especially as it's so weak to Electric types. Chosen because of its similarity to Exeggutor above - move combination combines a hard hitting quick move, and rapid and oft used charge move.Fifth: Lapras (Ice Shard/Ice Beam): Not as compelling a choice as in the past, but lasts long and still packs a punch with a hard to dodge charge move.Sixth: Vaporeon (Water Gun/Aqua Tail): Can still take a surprisingly long time to beat, and Aqua Tail fires often and quickly. Something of a war of attrition for the final attacker.Honourable mentions: Ampharos, Slowbro/King, Muk. Common threads: two bar charge moves are great, three bar moves are even greater.(Yes, Blissey, raid bosses, and network error are the real best defenders. Yes, the increase in super effective damage hugely reduces the effectiveness of defenders. Yes, motivation loss works against high CP defenders. This theoretical exercise is purely for fun). via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2wCGZfO
