"Worries about the future of Pokémon GO."

#PokemonGO: For a quick background check, I have been playing Pokémon GO since the beginning. I recently just hit level 35, have spent around £60 between on a Go Plus + coins, and mainly play casually during my lunch breaks, but also go out in the evenings to do my daily raid with a local Facebook group. However, with the recent explosion of new content and regional events that are going on recently, it is becoming more obvious that Niantic are frantically trying to maintain their player base with distractions, instead of reinforcing the foundations of the game.By this, I mean I have nowhere near as much motivation to play the game, outside of these events and recent additions once they become stale. I feel many players can also relate to this.Whilst these short bursts of excitement are enjoyable and breathe life back into the game, players shortly realize that the base game is still full of flaws and questionable decisions that have remained lurking around since the beginning. Many of us have persevered, seeing that occasionally Niantic will improve on content that needed it. This includes the search function, tracking (nearby Poke stops), a revamped gym system, improved catching UI and a few more things and whilst not always executed perfectly, are appreciated. This is usually few and far between though, and occasionally can cause as much damage as it fixes. An example of this is the gym system that players have been complaining about since launch but was only revamped nearly a year later. This fixed gyms from being indestructible 30-minute grinds, but maybe just went a little too far in the other direction. Gyms are now laughable to beat if they've decayed, plus players are incentivized to purposely surrender gyms in order to bank coins. The addition of raids was fun and brought many players together to unite for a common cause, but caused rare Pokémon to become commonplace and no longer exotic to see. Many players who walked their Larvitars all those Kilometres, and evolved them after the long grind just to see that you'd decide to give everyone all the Tyranitars would feel robbed. I’m currently sitting on a 96% lvl 8 Dratini I’d love to evolve, but am not going to as I know that Dragonite Raids will eventually be a thing.Seeing the Yokohama event from an outside perspective looks as if it takes the concept of finding these extremely rare Pokémon, and slaps everyone in the face who can't afford to travel around the world or were lucky enough to win the location lottery. There are so many more things that I could go on about but will finish here as it would dilute my point. Niantic are fortunate to still have the player base they have; we all just want to see the game thrive and can help. We need a line of communication. It would be a dream come true if Niantic were to discuss upcoming features with the community, iron out the flaws with new features before adding them and fix pre-existing features. If anyone from Niantic is reading this, just take a look back on the game as a whole, and remember your original vision. I still have hope, as do many of us that you will turn things around, but if things keep going the way they're going, you're slowly going to lose your player-base as more and more of us lose faith in you. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2w7BGVz
