"About Raid Rarity Tiers and Regular Spawn Breaks"

#PokemonGO: A few days ago someone asked for information about raid rarity tiers but nobody could contribute detailed data, only anecdotal reportings. So I decided to collect data for raids in my city to get a rough overview about the raids spawning. I collected data for a total of 2.942 raids. Yes, this is only a bigger snapshot but at least it’s better than pure anecdotal reportings, right?Raid lvlTotal RaidsØ per mon% of all RaidsLevel 170917724,1%Level 272914624,8%Level 36048620,5%Level 4266389%Level 563463421,5%First of all: Are spawns weighted within each level? Yes, that’s what it looks like. But the average number of spawns per Pokémon does decrease with raid level. The total of Level 2 raids is bigger than Level 1 raids but there is also one more Pokémon in the Level 2 group. Level 4 raids are by far the most uncommon raids. Level 5 raids are even more common than Level 3 raids according to my data. What I can say for sure is that the current legendary Pokémon is by far the most common raid you will see right now. Entei (in my case) spawned 3.6x more often than Magikarp and 14.4x more often than Tyranitar. One more thing…: I guess a fact that isn’t well known yet is that new raideggs are spawning only for 45 minutes of each hour. I tracked raid start times and eggs stopped spawning completely during the last 15 minutes of each hour, starting again at the beginning of the next hour. I never read about this on the road so you might check your local raids if any raids spawn, start or stop during the last quarter of an hour. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2x17ngM
