"[Discussion] We need Team Rocket event before Gen 3 implementation"

#PokemonGO: Hello fellow GOers,Recently I see a lot of comments expressing hope for next generation being implemented soon. As much as I understand it perfectly since people are bored by repetitive content, no new challenges or species to hunt for, I would really want to see Team Rocket event first. One can say a lot about new Gym system and Raids but there is one thing it surely changed for many players - it united the playerbase. There were times in the past when I was really frustrated by the Gyms stagnation, one team controlling whole town or Snorlax / Dragonite / Blissey towers everywhere. New system decreased this aspect of competition which made game more fun for these who don't care for "territory wars" and just want to gather coins for incubators etc. Raids on the other hand let us meet players from opposite teams, befriend them and have fun together while battling against raid bosses. One can hear a lot about raid burnout here and there. Currently Mewtwo and EX raids are still creating some buzz but even this will end some day. Legendary beasts will (probably) depart with the end of November and I think it would be perfect time to introduce new factor into the game - NPC opponent in form of Team Rocket - common enemy for all teams.I know Team Rocket ideas were suggested many times before we even had raids but the raid system came with mechanics which could be used in TR event as well.Start - Grunt HuntSo, this is how I'd like to see this. TR event would start, announcing that TR invades and rumors say they are trying to take over Gyms. First of all, players would meet TR Grunts who would appear near Pokestops and Gyms and initiate battle with 3-4 Pokemon scaled to player's level. Victory would grant player some items, exp and stardust. First battle should start a quest of defeating 20 Grunts in order to find some Rocket Key. We would have week or two to complete it, but one could battle more than 20 opponents during this period for extra rewards.Executive ExecutionWhen one would find said Key, they would be able to meet TR Executives during next phase of event. These would be NPCs with tougher teams containing 5-6 Pokemon, also scaled to player's level. Rewards as above. One would need to defeat 10 Executives in order to get Rocket Card.Final CountdownThird phase would need players'cooperation. 10-20 players will have to go to the Gym, use their Rockey Key and Card in order to unlock hidden entrance to TR Warehouse. This would initiate battle with TR High Executives who would use 12 Pokemon with special high CP like raid bosses (maybe something like T3 difficulty). Up to 20 players will have to defeat 12 Pokemon in a row together to win Rocket Boss Code.Giovanni's Last StandAs you may guess, final challenge would be battling Giovanni. He should also appear in Gyms at the last week of the event after using Rocket Boss Code by 10-20 players. His team would contain 6 really strong (T4 level difficulty) Pokemon. If the group will manage to beat TR boss, they would receive awesome rewards like TMs, incubators, coins, maybe even Masterball etc.Why do I think now is the most appropriate time for such event? Gen 3 games had different "evil teams" rooster so I think if we won't get TR now, it won't be implemented ever. Of course one could say main games rules don't apply to GO all the time but well, I think everyone would be excited to battle evil team in this game instead of 23th Tyranitar or Magmar.TL;DR Team Rocket event with phases of increased difficulty and cooperative battles would be a best way to end Kanto and Johto period in GO. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2xyfbbB
