"Is 805 Pokemon too many?"

This is a thing i hear people say sometimes, that 805 is too much Pokemon and is too hard to keep track of. So here's my thoughts.Well it is true that there is too much to remember, even the most hardcore fans couldn't name them all, there is a few problems with that.Usability: There are a lot of Pokemon that are utter garbage. These mons aren't really used that much to begin with and there really isn't much reason to care about them in the first place. Does Sunkirst really need to be remembered by a competitive player? No.Evolutions: Most Pokemon have an evolution line, with usually only one or no type changes. This makes it easy to know at least a bit about a pre-evolution. If you know Alakazam, do you need to know a lot about kadabra?Context Clues: The main thing you have to worry about when fighting a Pokemon is it's typing. The thing about this is normally you can easily figure out there typing through the appearence and name. If you don't know the typing of Geodude, you could easily figure it out.Blandness: The main reason that they keep adding 100 new Pokemon each generation is the game would get bland without it. Can you imagine if they only kept the original 151? It would get tiring only having the ability to battle against and with the same exact Pokemon.Tl;dr: No via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2wP2FEx
