"My dreams were crushed. Niantic, if you have a heart, let me run."

#PokemonGO: I am an avid runner, I always have been. I started playing pogo soon after launch but I had just had a hip surgery so I could not run or even walk very far. I spent the year playing almost every day but couldn't level up very fast. I attacked gyms for my team, defended my own gyms, and notified my friends when interesting pokemon were available. I never cheated or used scanners or anything. Well, a year later and I can finally run again. Imaging my excitement, I would finally start hatching eggs and collecting candy for my buddy pokemon. My first run after surgery was just a minute or two to see if everything worked. The next day I went for 5k and came in at just about 8 minute per mile pace (7.5 MPH or 12.3 KmH). I couldn't believe that it only registered 0.2k. My next run was another 5k but slightly faster and still only 0.2k. By the next week, I was running 10k most days and not really getting any distance registered. I can't believe this. I've waited all year. I've never played in my car and I actively try to get people to put their phones down while driving. I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing but I'm not getting the reward. I can't believe I was looking forward to this so much. I'm heart broken and I will probably quit. Niantic, can you please allow me to play the game while running? via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2epV9FR
