"Suggestion: Let us set our age in the app"
#PokemonGO: As most people know, sponsored stops and gyms as well as a lot of content during certain events, is off limits to those below the age of 13. Currently we have MewTwo raids at sponsored gyms which these people also can't attend. When installing the app, we are asked our age. Unfortunately, this only "works" for people with Google logins. If you have set up a Trainer Account you cannot under any circumstances change your age. This sucks for children, whose parents are fine with them being able to spin sponsored stops. And it also sucks for adults who naively set up an account for their non smartphone owning children, but then proceeded to instead use the account themselves. As you might be able to guess, that is me. I'm 42 years old and level 37, but the game thinks that I am 7 years old. Nobody wants to do anything about it. Not the pokemon company, not Niantic. It is driving me nuts. But really, it shouldn't be difficult for Niantic. Surely they could let us pick our age when installing the game, which is already the case for Google account users. Why not make that feature possible for Trainer Club account users? It should be easy and would help people like me.EDIT: A surprising amount of people seem to have troubling understanding this post. YES, if you delete the app and then reinstall the app asks for your age. The point is that IF you sign up via a Trainer Club account then it doesn't matter what age you set in the app. The app will get your age from the Trainer Club account when you sign in and there is NO WAY to change your age in the Trainer Club. So this "trick" DOES NOT WORK for people with Trainer Club accounts. Infact, the entire suggestion I make here is that it SHOULD WORK. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2xqvvvv
