#PokemonGO: Just think of how much more fun this game could be if battling was fun! Imagine having competitive, strategic, awesome battles, just like the mainline games. What if you could battle your friends to see who is the best? What if battles actually involved skill, strategy and allowed for a more diverse number of Pokemon to be useful in it?The idea of gyms is a great basic concept of bringing battling to Pokemon GO, but the system that is implemented in gyms is not great.3 things in the gym system that make it bad: 1. A boring "tap tap tap" battle system. 2. Spoofers and hackers 3. The goal is basically to get knocked out.Honestly, the "tap tap tap" battle is terrible. It requires no skill and merely tells you something you already know: Which pokemon has more CP/the type advantage.Now, changing how a gym battle works might be tough because it uses AI and players aren't always present at a gym, so this is were PVP comes in. With PVP, they could implement a great battle system, even the battle system in the original games. With PVP, Pokemon GO could still be a very exciting game even when you have a complete PokeDex.
