"Lugia 1v1 against Machamp raid boss ( and my thoughts )"

#PokemonGO: Hi travellers.Ever since I saw this pokebattler sim suggesting it's theoretically possible to 1v1 solo a Machamp with just a single Lugia ( ps using dodge specials pro with perfect dodging setting ), tried this wacky attempt as recorded in this videoImho, this 1v1 solo is a much harder challenge than most other solos I've attempted, by virtue that it requires perfect dodging on all the charge moves ( Close Combat for this matter ) without the attack flash in raids, and at the same time, maintaining dps to beat the clock.Well, I didn't succeed in this 1v1 solo ( ps the 2nd portion of the video with a "gatorade" help doesn't count, and it is a much easier task imho ), but here are some of my thoughts.1) Require Level 39 Lugia. Higher the IV, the better. Mine is ADS 15/13/13, pretty much the same performance as a perfect Lugia against that Machamp.2) Extrasensory/Sky Attack recommended moveset for Lugia. Futuresight "might" be possible, though now pokebattler sims shows that he can't do it without fainting. In any case, due to this rubber-banding lag situations, I would personally prefer SA, with less energy wastage and also able to frontload the damage more consistently. SA is pretty fast with 2 sec cast-time.3) Counter/Close Combat moveset for the Machamp. Lugia has double resistance to fighting moves. So, if the machamp has Bullet Punch or Heavy Slam, it's a No-Go. Theoretically it's possible with Counter/Dynamic Punch, but considering u gotta dodged twice as many perfectly ( estimated 20 DP vs 10 CC in the course of the battle ), it's a much tougher job.4) Beat the lag boss 1st, with good 4G/internet and good phone h/w. Mine is just a mid-tier Android phone, and for every serious attempt, I gotta close the app, cool it down for a moment and restart again...So those with latest androids or iPhones might get better experiences.5) Need to control tap on the quick moves rather than spam tapping. Extrasensory is a 1.1 second move. Close Combat dodge window is 1 to 1.7 sec after the "move text", so it's pretty fast, similar to how u need to dodge a hydropump. So spamming ES will most probably cause u to miss the CC. Btw, talking abt "Move text", with the lag situation and how the "Super Effective" message overrides the move text, it's better to rely on watching his charged attack motion ( his slight pause and chest pump ) than the move text. Nonetheless, even the attack motion can lagged as well ( as seen in Attempt 4 in the video )6) My best attempts are in Attempt 5 and 6, but even with dodging the killer blow CC, I do feel that I might time-out too. I think I lost quite alot of dps time from some extra anticipated (and unnecessary) dodges before the actual CC.Hope my thoughts will help those who wish to attempt this hard-mode solo challenge, and I do wish to see someone able to successfully achieve this ( hopefully recorded it as well ) :)Cheers! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2y9Pxdz
