"Removal of Recently-Added Rural and Suburban Pokéstops and Gyms"
#PokemonGO: It appears that a worldwide Pokéstop and Gym "claw-back" quietly occurred on the afternoon of October 11, primarily in rural and suburban areas, once again leaving many Pokémon GO players without any Pokéstop or Gym for miles around them. No official communication from Niantic has been released about this action. Only SPECULATIVE news exists, purporting the removal of the Pokéstops to be associated with a rollback of server data to an earlier backup to fix the "2-item glitch"; however, no confirmed conversation with any Niantic official backing this theory exists, and the "2-item glitch" continues for many. Every single Pokéstop and Gym added since September 25 due to Ingress portal submissions, which opened on that date, has been removed, and synchronization between Pokémon GO and Ingress has completely ceased. Since Ingress OPR is prioritizing submission reviews originating from low-density areas, rural and suburban areas have been hardest hit. This thread explains the problem in greater detail: http://ift.tt/2l82iRB you are a rural or suburban Pokémon GO player, and you are aware of a Pokéstop or Gym that has dissappeared since October 11, please report it to Niantic, and be clear to specify that it was for a removed Pokéstop or Gym, and name the location(s). We want Niantic to keep this problem on their radar, and provide definitive insight about it. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2gYUgWq
