"Anyone else feel low key guilty when boxing a Pokémon that’s been part of your team for a long time?"

I’m just past the part in UM where you complete the last trial, but before going to the Pokémon league. I’ve been spending the past few days using the Ultra Warp Ride to hunt for legendaries, and I finally found one - a Lugia. In order to put it into my party, however, I had to make a substitution. Given Lugia’s Flying/Psychic type, I had to go with the psychic type already on my team, an Espeon. It was with me from practically the start, when I caught it as an Eevee early on on the first island. It evolved just before Acerola’s trial (when I finally realized how late game the ice rock is and gave up on my initial plan of making it a Glaceon). It’s been a pretty major part of my team from the start, and has pulled me out of a few pretty sticky situations (mainly due to affection hax, but nonetheless), and now I feel like a bit of a jerk for just tossing it in the box (probably permanently) when the shiny new toy came along.
