"The importance of breeding for the future of the game"

#PokemonGO: Breeding is not mentioned that often in the list of Niantic’s promises for the game, but I believe it is as neccessary as trading or PvP, and even more useful. It would be a helpful feature (combined with trading) to make older pokemons available for new players in the future (they would need only to get one previous gen mon of a given species via trading and then breed it to get candy/better IVs until they could evolve it). (I really hope Niantic will make a reasonable amount of species unavailable in the wild and in raids when Gen3 in fully released, otherwise the spawns will be too diluted).Breeding will also be mandatory to get the Gen4 mythical Pokémon Phione, since in the main series games it is only obtainable by breeding Manaphy, another mythical. It would be really weird if Niantic decides to put Phione as a raid boss OR make it available from eggs.Of course, if breeding is ever implemented it would probably take away some of the gacha aspects of the game. After we catch the first member of the species we want, we wouldn’t have to spin endless Pokéstops in the hopes of getting the right km egg and pray for a useful creature to hatch. Spinning stops for eggs would be an option if we were still looking for super rare mons we couldn’t find in the wild, but we would also be able to fill our egg inventory by breeding what is useful for us. Maybe Niantic would see this as a threat for their profit, since we would need to hatch less eggs in order to get the candies we need. On the other hand, maybe the players would be more enthusiastic about eggs and more incubators would be bought if we were sure that we would get good hatch results from them. IV-obsessive players could breed and hatch a lot until they got a 100% pseudo-legendary or glass cannon. And, of course, Niantic could find a way to restrict the way breeding works. They could restrict the number of eggs obtained from breeding in the inventory, make us spend some resource like stardust or candy in order to produce an egg, or maybe even make us interact with a gym or walk a certain distance in order to produce eggs (in the main series games you can only breed ). Naturally legendaries and mythicals would be non-breedable (Manaphy/Phione being a special case). via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2zmi8y8
