"How to catch Kyogre (now with MS Paint goodness)"

#PokemonGO: I was looking at the post about catching it on the side and...after reading the comments, I think it's time for a tutorial how to catch Pokemon like this. It's broken down into three examples, left/middle/right.Example #1:http://ift.tt/2D88oK5 start in the bottom corner and you do your regular spin, counter-clockwise/anti-clockwise. It's almost a straight up throw. To hit an Excellent Curve from here, you need to hit the exact same spot with the exact same VELOCITY every time. This is actually a bit of a slower throw, but longer. It's almost straight up. Yes, even though it's a curve, throw it almost straight up. Trust me, it will not go off the left of the screen. You will waste a lot of balls on this until you learn where the release spot is. Then, once you do, you just aim for that place every time.Example #2:http://ift.tt/2AWX1Ph reason OP that I got this image from failed is that they didn't realise that Pokemon release points generally correspond to their shape; Kyogre is wide and it has the same throwing mechanics as Mantine, EXCEPT EASIER because Mantine has a smaller hitbox. Kyogre is basically Mantine, but easier.Wide Pokemon require a wider throw. When you look at the example, you are going to be making a sideways throw. And you will probably end up short the first few times you do it. The game measures distance and velocity, so you have to start in the bottom corner WITHOUT FAIL and then go to side and "zip" the throw at the end. This is one of the "curve" throws in the game where you can actually make a curving motion like a "U" as well. This isn't necessarily a diagonal throw, but it can be. Almost all Pokemon with a wide shape require a wide angle throw. Sudowoodo is the opposite; it's tall and narrow and requires a more upward throw with a very high release point.Example #3:http://ift.tt/2D8Vbkn isn't like #1. A curve isn't a curve. The mechanics aren't the same. First of all, this is a CLOCKWISE spin. If you don't already throw from both sides, DON'T START LEARNING ON KYOGRE. Use a Barboach or a Horsea or something.Second, just because the left side throw is almost straight up, the logic here is NOT the same. This one is diagonal a bit towards the middle. And it also has a different motion than the left throw; the left throw in Ex. #1 is more of a longer throw that's got less velocity, the right throw in this example is a shorter throw of higher velocity. This isn't any harder than a lot of others. In fact, they really made this pretty easy. If they had made it like Mantine, no one would catch it. The hitbox is small enough to allow a quick throw, but not so big that it's hard to be accurate, like a Pidgey in your face. Finally, a tip about all three: you have to be used to the time that animations take. If you are making a throw in the middle, you need to react IMMEDIATELY and make a quick throw. The one on the right is the most forgiving time-wise; your throw will start late. And you can't start dragging slowly, you just need to rip it at the last second. The throw on the left falls somewhere in-between.Good luck and remember the reason you're missing left isn't distance, it's that your throw angle is too high. Widen your angle. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2mzilWX
