"I've started throwing basic Pokémon into gyms"

#PokemonGO: I am experiencing the revive epidemic, the epidemic of not having enough revives to heal my Pokemon. I'm not getting enough from raids and I rarely get them from Pokéstops. Example, yesterday I was at a restaurant for 1.5 hours. I was in reach of 1 Pokéstop and 1 gym. I spun them the entire time. I didn't receive a single revive. In fact, I rarely receive revives from spins anymore.I do receive them from raid battles, but never enough. As a result I have about 20 or so of my best Pokémon have fainted with no means of reviving them. This trend has caused me to do two things in order to save revives.I have started throwing basic Pokemon that I will later transfer into gyms.In a raid battle, assuming there is enough people, I don't go back in with my second round of Pokemon.I will only attack gyms where there is little to no motivation left so none of my Pokemon faint.I have noticed others in my area, specifically with point 1, do the same. In every gym there is at least 1-2 basic pokemon. A Charmander, Aron, etc. These three aspects that changed how I play the game and others have a negative effect on the game (for me and others). Gyms are even more pointless than before. They are there to get coins and host raid battles. Take away the coins and I doubt people would interact at all with gyms except to do raid battles. Not having enough revives impacts the most essential part of the game. We need them to battle. Without them battling becomes a game of how many revives can I afford. I want to have to calculate the stats of my Pokemon, not how many revives I am going to need after a raid battle. The ironic part of point 2 is that not going in with my second line up causes me to receive less balls and thus less items (possibly revives). It's a downward spiral.I'm Mystic and the area I am in is predominantly Valor. So I am receiving less team bonus balls at raids which could account for some of the lack of revives. While I think this is part of the reason, I'm not convinced this is the problem. A little while ago when I lived in Mystic dominated area the issue was starting and my revive count slowly dwindled away.Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I know a number of other people in my areas are. I think the items we receive from raids is perfect. Niantic has been fine tuning it and I think they have hit a good spot. I don't think that should be changed. I think the simple solution is to increase slightly the amount of revives we receive from all spins (gyms and stops). Another idea would be to give a small amount of revives and potions after defeating a gym. Nothing insane (2-3 of each). I prefer like the former idea better. Giving more items at spins ensures all players are getting them. Increasing the amount of revives after a raid battle wouldn't solve the issue as it would only benefit the predominant team in the area. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2DGrO51
