""Pokémon Day 2018" Should we expect anything special?"

The recently announced "Pokémon Day 2018" on February 27th has sparked some interest within the Pokémon community. I know that it is to coincide with the anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Blue 22 years ago, but I don't recall there being a "Pokémon Day" last year when Pokémon was 21. Could there be a big announcement (Pokémon Switch)? Or could it simply be nothing to get excited over?
