"EV Training in Pokemon GO"
#PokemonGO: I thought about how to make fighting in Gyms more appealing and more rewarding. For me personally, fighting in Gyms is barely worth my time, because grinding Stardust and looking for shinys is way more rewarding. I am aware that not all of you feel the way I do, and yet I do believe that for a majority Gym fighting isn't really that appealing. There are many threads about how people would like to level up their Pokemon via Gym fighting or Gym defending, and although I really like this idea because it would fit the feeling of other Pokemon Games (Fighting to level up), I don't believe that Niantic will ever introduce this feature. If you could train your Legendary Pokemon to level 40 without having to Raid for Rare Candy they would miss out on money by Raid Pass sales. But how can they introduce the mechanic of powering up your Pokemon by fighting in Gyms witouth missing out on Raid Pass sales? The answer is simple: EV Training. For those unaware of what EV Training is, here are two links that explain it:https://pokemondb.net/evhttps://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Effort_values"As Pokémon battle, in addition to gaining experience points they also obtain Effort Values (usually referred to as EVs), which are special hidden values in each stat (HP, Attack and so on). Each Pokémon you battle against gives off EVs in one or more stats."So your own Pokemon basically gain extra stats by fighting other specific Pokemon. For me, being able to improve my Pokemon even further by actually fighting with them, would be a welcome addition to the game. By now, I have a bunch of lvl 40 Pokemon that I have never actually fought with, and EV training would incentivize me to get them out and fight with them.I know that some of you might think:"They will never introduce it since they cannot generate money by implementing this feature", but I think that is wrong. First of all, improving the game and making it more fun to play helps to keep it alive and thus secure cash flow in the future. They have proven that they don't just think about profit when implementing new stuff. Take the Quest System for example, there is no pay to win aspect in it. Second of all, they coud actually sell an Item that would boost EV gain by 50% (or 100% whatever) in the Item shop for half an hour. Or make an Item that can be held by a Pokemon to fasten its EV gain.I sincerely and truly believe that this could be a super fun and enjoyable feature. Niantic has proven in the past that they listen to what the community proposes, so why not give EV training some spotlight and discuss this awesome feature we already got in other Pokemon Games.I'd really like to hear your opinion on this. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2KcVhGA
