"Researchers Wanted - May Community Day"

#PokemonGO: Firstly, our guide for this month's Community Day can be found hereA breakdown of the Community Day Legacy Special Box will be included once available. There's a few theories surrounding Blast Burn. It's tough to say if our original analysis is now irrelevant or if the current change is simply placeholder data. Regardless it will likely be the best non-Legendary Fire type and has a wicked sweet Shiny and 2, yes 2, eventual Mega evolutions so there's that too.One of the big things I talk about unique to this Community Day is research. Yes, last CD had research too and I do also discuss the technicals of the "Catch 3 Charmander/Mareep" tasks in this article (basically think of the start of Community Day as a new day but don't think of the end of CD as the same day, more technical summary in the guide). The unique aspect is that Charmander is available as a Research Reward from the following research tasks:Evolve 5 Pokemon.Catch 10 Weather-Boosted Pokemon.Power up a Pokemon 5 times. (Awards a random Kanto Starter)Win a Gym Battle. (Awards a random Kanto Starter)This means dedicated players have a decent shot at stockpiling high IV Chameleon to evolve. This also means there's a chance these encounters, too could become shiny during CD.The CD window seems to reroll shiny encounters. This can be noticed by those that encounter a Shiny during the CD hours but catch it after Community Day has ended (say if you click the Pokemon at 4:59 and catch it at 5:00). There is then, a chance that existing Research could also be rerolled INTO a shiny. There are 3 different stages that research can be in, each of which may or may not be affected by the shiny-rate increase;Uncompleted Research (as in ⅘ Pokemon Evolved/Powered Up)Unclaimed Reward (Research fully completed but the Reward has never been clicked)Banked Encounter Reward (Completed and claimed research where you flee from the encounter so that it is stockpiled to be caught later)While the third state of rewards is seemingly unlimited, each player can only hold 3 total encounters of the first two types, meaning that it will be much harder to collect data on those two things. That's where I need your help TSR! Consider saving research in these various states to help collect data. If a small handful of trainers contribute, it should provide enough of a dataset to determine either way. Make sure to screen record your findings and specify which of the above three stages the reward was at during the start of Community Day. I know that this is pretty speculative and I've been both right and wrong on these baseless speculations before but hopefully some fellow TSRers can find it in their quest log to lend a task slot or two for a few hours. Also, if you run from an encounter and encounter it, research or otherwise, its shiny status does NOT change- so you can capture full shiny proof (shiny status WILL revert again after CD ends).Information regarding Shiny encounters can be submitted to this subreddit or inboxed to me directly or through Twitter. Many tips included within this guide can help you prepare to make the most of your Community Day and the most of your Charmander Candy to create the most powerful Charizard army possible. The one that I stress the most is to set alarms and allot time to evolve (and appraise and such). I wound up evolving 8 total Venusaur and I didn't realize how long that was going to take. It totals about 5-7 minutes depending on your phone. I left Ampharos CD without an exclusive move Shiny (I got others with the move just didn't evolve a shiny in time) so make sure you plan your time accordingly. Set goals for yourself with the data from this guide but don’t get burnt out. This Community Day is sure to be a blast! via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2ItndWs
