"Tip: Don't "transfer" - "trade" instead to maximise candy."

#PokemonGO: If you do a trade with someone else and the two pokemon were caught over 100km apart then you receive 3 candies from that pokemon. This means you can essentially swap dust for candies from rare species and at a very good exchange rate.Just follow this: 1) Don't transfer your rare pokemon that aren't any good for one candy, hold onto them. 2) Co-ordinate with a friend who is going to travel to get them to keep a load of the useless mons they catch. 3) Become ultra or best friends with them so it only costs you 8 or 4 stardust respectively. 4) Trade your useless larvitar for their useless mon caught over 100km away and get 3 larvitar candy instead of the 1 you would've got from transferring, transfer the useless mon and get a candy for that too.Sure you might not have that many valuable ones worth doing this with, but if you're ever transferring for candy (larvitars, dratinis, snorlaxes, chanseys etc) it's a way to treble your candy. (No idea yet whether you'll get 6 candy during a double candy event). If you can find someone who has similar quality pokemon from 100km then you can get one in return and then transfer that and pick up another candy therefore getting quadruple candy.I.e. I have 200 larvitars from community day, if I can find someone who did community day over 100km away and has that many larvitars we'll both be 600 larvitar candy better off, while still having 200 larvitars (so 800 candy in total effect from 200 mons). If we're best friends it will have cost us 800 stardust each which is a pretty good rate.Working in central london I come across with commutes in over 100km so should be able to do this quite regularly. Essentially the game dynamics have no changed that so when I catch a rareish pokemon instead of getting 6 candies (with a pinap) and 100 dust, I'll eventually get a total of 9-10 candies and 96 dust. This needn't be only used on rare pokemon, imagine someone pidgey farming to level up. Catch a pidgey, evolve and transfer would usually be a net cost of 7 candies. Now find a 100km+ friend, catch, trade for another pidgey, evolve and transfer will be a net cost of just 4 candies. Use a pinap on the catch and you can essentially trade then evolve most every pidgeys (weedle, whismur etc) you catch if you want to trade dust for XP.edit: Also it's good for your distance for your Pilot medal. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2K6p1cE
