"LONG POST: Is Niantic trying to even out all the accounts? (i.e. time spent playing feels less and less rewarding)"

#PokemonGO: Let's start by saying it's my first post on reddit and I'm not a native english speaker, so forgive me if I could have done anything better. I just love this game and it's ability to gather players and create communities, I don't want to feel like it's getting worse. There are several issues I have with this game that are surfacing in these last months, and I'll try to summarize them. I will avoid talking about the new lucky Pokemons, because we still don't know much about them. I just hope they are exclusive from trading, to mirror the way in the original games traded Pokemons gained levels faster. If it's not the case and we will be able to find them in the wild, it would be just another way to prove my point.XP IS INFLATEDWhen the raid system started, some people said that giving 10k exp for the legendaries was too much, because it was not related to stardust gained. This way, people that only do raids get strong pokemon and reach high levels, but they're not able to power them up. But at the end of the day, the raid system has become a way to test your strenght if you are an active player and to get better each day, if you were willing to spend time playing. But right now the gift system will make people able to gain 350k exp per friend, using lucky eggs. People can theoretically sit at home opening gifts and easily get an extremely high level account only catching their starter Pokemon, without even having to play the game. We will also get accounts at level 39 equivalent to an old level 30, for instance. We will have to get used to it and hope that the rumors of Niantic introducing other levels and evening out all the 40+ players at level 40 aren't true. That would be the way to definitevely even everyone out, making low levels gain more exp and erasing it from the high ones, without rewarding the time spent. One could not distinguish an hardcore player from a casual one without knowing it personally.EVENTS AND POKEMON TEAMSI was at level 37 before the introduction of the first legendaries, one year ago. People had issues finding a team good enough to face the Birds, while I had a good Golem team. My time spent playing felt valuable, for me and my small community. Than larvitar day happened, and I've never used a Golem since. People around me got multiple Ttars, making a great rock team (better than my former one) to face Regice, Lugia, Articuno and Zapdos, waiting for Moltres Day.All the time spent before that community day and all the dust invested feel wasted, I could have just played for 3 hours to get a better team. I mean, it's great for the community, because now people can do legendary raids without having to get a lobby made of at least 10 players to have the opportunity to beat them. My time spent playing just doesn't feel rewarded, because I have almost no advantage in respect to the lower exp (or stardust, or time spent) accounts. Now, lets' talk about one of their worst ideas (in my opinion), not making thundershock TMable, so that every old Zapdos is now outdated. That's even worse than my example of the Larvitar's CD, because of the nedd for 20 KMs to get one candy and the lots of rare candies and stardust just wasted. Now I just fear to power up and even evolve Pokemon. I still don't have a Metagross, Salamence or Flygon because I'm saving my candies for their Community Days, if I'm even able to participate. I also now regret maxing my 100% Kyogre (future proof /s), because it will be possibly outclassed by it's future version with Origin Pulse.CONCLUSION - TLDRIs Niantic making us need to play the three hours events to be on pair with every other trainer (FOMO)?Are they evening out the accounts to avoid newcomers and returning players feeling useless? What will being at a high level mean in two months, with the gift system? Is only playing the three hours events actually useful, while the rest of the year is just a preparation for them?Do we have to power up only event pokemon?Am I right to regret maxing my 100% Kyogre? Is this just a problem of communication by Niantic's part?Is this just a rant from a 32 Million exp player that wants to be better than the others?Time will tell. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2O7JSeb
