"These events are the best"

#PokemonGO: Lately I’ve been fairly frustrated with the state of the game, mainly due to enjoying spending time with the community doing raids. With the Regi, no one, myself primarily, is interested in doing them.The latest events from GO Fest and Safari seemed like “here’s a shiny you don’t have to work for” and some catchup XP or candy for Pokémon that are common since there wasn’t exactly rare spawns, or unique spawns.During Adventure Week, the fighting event, and the Water Festival, I spent most my time playing Pokémon GO, and really enjoyed it. Then the Regi attacked, and it seemed interest among a lot of folks died down.I live in Oregon, where we are surrounded by wildfires from California, Canada, Washington and our own in the gorge. We also suffered some heat waves, and due to the wildfires, have been under a constant weather alert due to the bad air quality, making everyone feel like they’ve been smoking for 50 years. Its been that bad. So the only options to really enjoy the game have been sitting in a car where it’s safe. Luckily, after today, the air quality is becoming safer and the temps are lowering 20 degrees.Needless to say, due to the new shinies and them spawning more, folks have been getting out and playing. Whether it be stopping at cluster spawns in cars or going to areas with lots of shade and trees, people are really enjoying this event.To prevent this from being a story, and make it more of a discussion, I ask what your opinions are.Are these “new shiny” events where you have to do some serious grinding without being handed them better than the extra xp/stardust/candy events?I’m a day one player that has 46m xp, when I stopped caring about XP after 40, so I may be in that unique boat.Anyways thank you Niantic for finally having another event that feels inclusive to everyone that plays, rather than just returning players or the casual base.
