"[Idea] Update gym system so that the daily 50 coin cap is a weekly 350 cap"

#PokemonGO: I've been thinking about this a lot and I think that changing the daily 50 coin cap to a weekly 350 coin cap would make the system a lot better and accessible for more players. Right now in areas with a lot of players, the gym system is fine and works as designed but in areas with a large disparity in team density or just low population of players, the gym system is incredibly frustrating and almost defunct.In areas where one team dominates the population, the gyms are ALWAYS that color and are instantly retaken when another team takes it. This leads to the hours of 1am-7am being the only time another team can hold a gym and that's absurd. In the area where I live, its gotten to the point where the other teams don't even bother taking gyms because we want the blue team's pokemon to sit up there and rot. In areas of super low density, you run into the problem of having Pokemon sit up there for days even if you are the only one holding the gym. Of course you could make another account and knock your own Pokemon out but that just reinforces that it's a broken system.If the coin accumulation cap was changed to a 350 weekly cap, it would solve the problem in those two situations. Once they hold a gym or gyms long enough to accumulate your coins (2.5 days for a single gym at the new rate), most players I know lose interest in taking gyms until the cap resets. This means that for people who hold multiple gyms, they can be done with bogarting slots in gyms with their Chanseys and Blisseys for the week after holding a few gyms for a single day. This opens up the gyms slots to a lot more players and other colors as well. In the case where there aren't a lot of players, the chances of a gym changing hands once a week is a lot more likely than a gym changing hands daily and this system won't penalize players for not living in a high density area. This system also doesn't change how gyms work normally in areas with good distribution of teams and high population of players. The gyms would change hands same as usual and coin accumulation would work the same as it has been. This change would basically expand the gym/coin system out to be more friendly to people who don't live in ideally distributed pokemon go populated areas and allow them to reap proper rewards from the gym/coin system.tl;dr - changing 50 coin daily cap to a 350 coin weekly cap makes system friendlier to people who don't live in huge pokemon go cities while keeping current system intact. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2N6wslJ
