"Alola is one of the most fleshed out regions to date but deserved a better game"
This is more an appreciation post because I think there's no fresh criticism I can add so let me just say, wow this is the closets pokemon has come to a real country imo.I love the story of the Alolan forms, it wasn't like megas, where their origin was kinda hand waved, instead we get a feel that the regions are connected via migration and trade and there are tangible consequences for it.The buildings and map layout feels the most intricate, detailed and realistic it's ever been (how many games can boast that they have a regular Supermarket?). The trainer school has the feeling of being an actual institute of learning rather than some woman having tutorials written up on a board, there's an observatory, several beaches with a thriving surfing community, it all just feels so much more whole! Then my favourite, the traditions of Alola. Every game has you go on a journey just because what else is a bored tween to do but in Alola, it's a proper right of passage. There's a reverence for the pokemon that would be relegated to a plot point in other games and actual values about family and respect for the world around you permeates throughout the region.I really hope the next games out do Gen 7 in how convincing their world is because if they do, it'll probably not just be a great pokemon region but maybe even a staple as far as RPG world's go via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2DT4lAQ
