#PokemonGO: If you have limited premium raid passes, please be advised that the only good legendary in Gen 4 is going to be Dialga.Pokémon Go’s battle system flattens combat, eliminating abilities, healing and status, and thereby dramatically reducing the utility of defensive or specialized Pokémon from the main series. Cresselia, which is very strong in main-series doubles formats, is useless in Go as the game currently works. Heatran, who could have been a top fire type, did not get good moves, and will be second-tier unless he gets a different moveset. Darkrai will be a top dark type attacker, but it is a mythical Pokémon and we do not know how it will be distributed.All dragons are serve the same purpose in raids: attacking other dragons, who are vulnerable to dragon type damage. Because of their high attack stat, they are often comparable to ice attackers in dragon raids, even against targets that are double weak to ice. Against dragons that are not double weak to ice, other dragons are far and away the best attackers. The trouble is, those dragon bosses hit dragon attackers for super effective damage and chew through them very fast.Rayquaza is the highest DPS dragon, and probably always will be. It has the highest attack stat and the most efficient move set. However, Dialga has 275 attack to Rayquaza’s 284 and Salamence’s 177. Its charge move, Draco Meteor is nearly as efficient as Rayquaza’s outrage, and, while its dragon breath quick attack is less efficient than Dragon Tail, but Dialga comes with bulk comparable to Tyranitar’s, and Dialga’s unique steel/dragon typing means it takes only neutral damage from Dragon attacks, giving it much more survivability against the things you will commonly use it to attack. It should offer a significant TDO improvement over Rayquaza for a very small DPS tradeoff. Dialga also resists flying and rock, which are Rayquaza’s other charge moves, so Dialga will be a very efficient attacker into Rayquaza (though we are also getting Mamoswine). I think it is the second-best dragon.Palkia is also a pretty good dragon generalist, but without the optimal move set or the key resistance to dragon to differentiate it, your rare candy is likely better spent on another Rayquaza or Dialga.If you are trying to figure out how to allocate scarce passes over the next year, prioritize, Dialga, then Palkia, then Heatran, and then everything else.
