"New Community Day System Suggestion"

#PokemonGO: Hello everyone! This was a suggestion that got mentioned today in my current PoGo community (Tokyo, Japan), which I do really think is worth sharing.Few months ago Japan had an exclusive event called "Special Weekend". Basically you needed to buy something in certain establishments (McDonalds and Tully's among others - RIP Softbank) to obtain a code that once reedemed gave you access to special spawns (Unowns, Chanseys, Larvitars, etc.) during a 3-day weekend. It's basically the same system as how Chicago's Go Fest or Yokosuka's Safari Zone worked, as well. Now the suggestion is the following: why not make community day work in a similar fashion? Let's say you have some kind of button in your profile, or in the news there's a QR code that once scanned will last for 3-hours (just like a regular community day) but can be activated anytime within the designated community day 24-hour window, or hell even make it avaliable through the whole weekend. This way you solve different issues:1. Everyone gets to play whenever it suits them better - some may play in the morning, others at the same usual time, others on the evening after work shifts, and so on.Giving only a 3-hour access per event on each account, you kind of get rid of spoofers doing 3 CDs a day.If everyone is able to play at different times, there won't be such player spikes and server issues at the start of every CD, like the APAC region has been suffering for the past few months. How hard it would be to implement a mechanic like that? It'd be basically adapting Safari Event check-in system to the community day, which I think would really benefit the whole community. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2Ffs14F
