"A (realistic) Heatran Raid "guide""

#PokemonGO: Having difficulty taking down Heatran? No idea what works and what doesn't? Allow me to briefly break down this fiery force-to-be reckoned with, and maybe help you get settled for the next few weeks to figure out a solid team to battle against Heatran!Heatran's Raid Boss stats:CP: 44,905 / HP: 12,500 / Attack: 210 / Defense: 180Heatran's regular stats:Max CP: 3,754 / HP: 209 / Attack: 253 / Defense: 209CP Range upon capture: 2058 (66.7%) - 2145 (100%)Possible moveset:Fast Move: Fire Spin (Fire) / Bug Bite (Bug)Charge Move: Fire Blast (Fire) / Stone Edge (Rock) / Iron Head (Steel)Heatran has excellent stats across the board, with over 200 in everything, and an Attack stat that rivals its flying counterpart, Moltres. It comes with STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) moves in Fire Spin, and two of its Charge Moves, Fire Blast and Iron Head. It's a shame that Fire Blast puts its overall DPS under Moltres', but Heatran is still a solid Fire-Type Pokémon if you don't have several powered up Moltres, Charizard, Entei or Flareon. That aside, Heatran is an excellent Fairy-Type counter, having a quadruple resistance to every Fairy-Type move there is, but also coming with a giant drawback, a quadruple weakness to Ground. This weakness can be utilized by a few uncommonly used Ground-Types, like Swampert and Golem, or even Flygon, which all resist every single move Heatran possesses, barring Flygon taking neutral damage from Iron Head, and Golem taking Super Effective damage from Iron Head.To take on Heatran, you're going to want a few things. Specifically, you'll want a few people to tackle Heatran with, to begin with. If you're not a hardcore challenge-seeking Trainer, you'll want to go in with at least a group of 4 to 5 other Trainers, ranging from level 25, up to 35, with proper Pokémon counters against Heatran. If you're a thrill-seeker, and like the challenge of short-manning Heatran, two high-level Trainers will be all you need. And by high-level, we're looking at level 35 and onwards, due to time restraints and Pokémon requirement. Let's be real, not everyone owns 6 (or even 1) perfect IV Groudon, which is the absolute king of Heatran-slayers out there.A good duo with a team consisting of Groudon, Swampert, Rhyperior, Flygon and Machamps as filler Pokémon, should have an easy time at taking down Heatran within the time given.Three-manning this with Trainers above level 30 should also be possible with Level 25 or above Groudon, and level 30 and higher Swampert, Rhydon/Rhyperior, Flygon, Machamp, Golem, Kyogre, Blastoise, Gyarados.Any groups that are 4 or more, pick any of the Pokémon mentioned above or below, make sure you're at least around Level 30's, and you should be perfectly fine.Trainers that are level 25 and under, please do not attempt this without proper help or a large group of players battling at the same time. By large group, consider bringing at least 7 or 8 friends into battle with you, if you're ranging between Level 20 - 30A list of Pokémon that counter Heatran:Ground-Types:Groudon - Mud Shot / EarthquakeSwampert - Mud Shot / EarthquakeFlygon - Mud Shot / EarthquakeGolem - Mud-Slap / EarthquakeRhydon/Rhyperior - Mud-Slap / EarthquakeDonphan - Counter / EarthquakeAlolan Dugtrio - Mud-Slap / Mud BombWater-Types:Kyogre - Waterfall / Hydro PumpGyarados - Waterfall / Hydro PumpVaporeon - Water Gun / Hydro PumpSwampert - Mud Shot / EarthquakeBlastoise - Water Gun / Hydro Cannon/PumpPoliwrath - Bubble / Dynamic PunchFighting-Types:Machamp/Breloom/Hariyama - Counter / Dynamic PunchBlaziken - Counter / Focus BlastLucario - Counter / Close CombatHeracross - Counter / EarthquakePoliwrath - Bubble / Dynamic PunchThese Pokémon are just a general overview of things that work best. If you have Pokémon that both resist Heatran's attacks, and deal Super Effective damage against it, bring it along to fill a slot that isn't already filled on your team!Hope this helps you somewhat prepare for the harsh winter weeks, stay safe, Happy Holidays and most of all, have fun, Trainers! via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/2CsCxSE
