"PSA: Keep in mind, Pokemon Go is a VERY CASUAL game. Do not expect in depth, turn based mechanics"

#PokemonGO: The hype train has left, and people are starting to speculate how pvp will work. Lots of people want a combat system similar to the main series, but people need to remember pokemon go is a very casual game at heart.Go doesn’t give players a stat breakdown for their pokemon, just a simplified “Combat Power” to represent its overall effectiveness. The current in-game battle system is heavily simplistic, without immunities, status effects, and abilities. IVs have a smaller impact on battle, and competitive breeding mechanics are substituted for pure RNG.With that in mind, try to lower your expectations for the PvP system. While TSR and other reddit communities are very hardcore with GO, its imporant to remember that we’re all a vocal minority. A majority of players are far more casual, and Niantic will cater to them, as they’ve done before.Don’t get me wrong, I really want PvP to have more depth that our current battle system. Its definitely possible that Niantic will add more depth to battles, but theres a good chance that it will stay fairly simplistic. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2RqD2S6
