"Breloom + Grass Knot. Highest DPS for grass type, but low HP/TDO. Useful for Raids/Gyms. Not for PvP"

#PokemonGO: TLDR: Good against water/ground/rock in gym/raids, not good for PvP. Looks like a good second-charge-move candidate. EDIT: Looks useful against ground types in Boulder Cup.Gyms and RaidsFor Gyms and Raids, it looks like Counter and Grass Knot will be the highest DPS moveset for BreloomAnd overall, the new Breloom is ranked #26 in DO@20, so it'll have limited uses as a generalist. As a grass type, it is ranked #4 in DO@20 behind Roserade and both Exeggutors. It has the highest DPS for a grass type, but less HP/TDO. So if we look at DO@15, Breloom is ranked #1.However, this only tells half the story. Grass is effective against ground, rock and water. Roserade has higher DPS against WAter and Ground. Also, each of these types have other weaknesses. Lets see who is best against ground, rock and water.Against ground types. Breloom is ranked #4 in DO@20. Kyogre, Roserade, and Weavile are ahead of it, but Breloom is much more accessible because Kyogre is legendary while Roserade and Weavile require Sinnoh stones. Breloom is also just ahead of Feraligatr + Hydro Cannon. Breloom has higher DPS and TDO than Feraligatr.Against rock types. Breloom is ranked #2 in DO@20. Only Metagross is ahead of it, but I assume most people have this one after its community day.Against water types, Breloom is ranked #6, behind Electivire, Rakou, Luxray, Zapdos, and Roserade. However, Breloom is much more accessible than those five ahead of it.Overall, it looks like Breloom will be useful against these three types. Counter + Dynamic punch is still useful, so this looks like a great time to get that second charge move.Trainer BattlesIts important to look at trainer battles separately. First, moves have different stats for trainer battles. Also, PvP is about surviving, which means maximizing TDO and not DO@20. Breloom has low HP/TDO in general, so it doesn't do well in PvP no matter the move set.Grass Knot is tied with Dynamic Punch for Breloom's top move sets So choosing between the two moves just comes down to type effectivness. As above, lets look at Ground, Rock, and water types. But we will also look at the three levels of trainer battles. In master league battles, Breloom is ranked #94 overall in TDO and doesn't look to be useful. (This link shows Dynamic Punch, but remember it is tied with Grass Knot.) It is ranked #33 against ground types and ranked #22 against rock types and ranked #21 against water types There seem to be plenty of better options in each of these situations. In ultra league battles, there is a similar story because Breloom is ranked #65 overall in TDO and doesn't look useful here either (This link shows Dynamic Punch, but remember it is tied with Grass Knot.) Looking against specific types, Breloom is ranked #31 against ground types and is ranked #16 against rock types and is ranked #13 against water types. There seem to be plenty of better options for ultra league battles too.For great league battles, Breloom is ranked #156. (This link shows Dynamic Punch, but remember it is tied with Grass Knot.) Looking at speicfic types, Breloom + Grass Knot is ranked #51 against ground types and is ranked #28 against Rock types and is ranked #29 against water types. Overall, it's HP/TDO is too low to be useful for PvPBoulder CupEDIT: as commented below, I forgot about the boulder cup. Looking at those four types:Against ground, Breloom + Grass Knot is the best fighting type in TDO, but #4 behind ground types Gliscor, Torterra, and Gligar. I think it is a worthwhile option here. But against the other 3 types (Rock, Steel, and Fighting) Breloom doesn't make the top ten just among fighting types. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2CoSmIP
