"Reasoning behind the Feebas Research event being a 3h window?"

#PokemonGO: I feel like it would make much more sense to extend the research window to a weekend, for example.One of the main concepts of the event is to "explore" different areas, as you need to spin unique Pokestops for new research. Wouldn't it make sense to leave each research for the whole weekend, having the player needing to expand his/her route to spin more unique stops?We could also compare the anecdotal shiny rate of this event with the December CD (outside of the 3h period), as they seem similar.
