"What a day in São Paulo! Made friends and trades, went on my first non-solo raid, which resulted in a Groudon!"
#PokemonGO: I am traveling on business in Brazil. My workday finished a little soon, so I walked to MASP and got there right at closing time. I was disappointed, but saw the lovely little park across the street, and wondered if perhaps this was the famous park in São Paulo that had the Bulbasaur statue. As I walked though the park entrance, I heard a familiar sound- it was the music and sound effects of 2 gentlemen playing Pokémon Go!Unfortunately, I was in the wrong park for my bulbasaur statue.Fortunately, I could make one special trade!I had been chasing Chatot all day with no luck, and I traded my only Riolu for a Chatot- no regrets! Riolu will eventually be everywhere, right? (I hope?!?)We walked though the park and found more people to trade with. I was disappointed that I couldn’t trade specials with others. I didn’t need more special Pokémon myself, but I wanted to share Taurus, Kangaskhan, or others with people. I would have taken any old 10 CP in return.Afterwards I walked back to my hotel, and it was rush hour and raining. I ducked for cover at a bus stop that was right underneath a Groudon raid. Now, I rarely get to raid, and never with a group. There were 15 people in that huge crowd raiding with me- and we easily defeated Groudon. For my encounter- I got an error message right after I saw that my Groudon was shiny. Never fear- I caught him in one ball, and he is amazing with an impressive attack- Wow!I have been hanging on to all of my special candy for months- so I powered that dude right up!Anyway, what a fun trip! I haven’t seen any Heracross to bring home, and I hope to have my luck change with the Chatot and bring home some more. Thanks to astronobafoudo, Karolineec, Rodraga, Will260894, and xKyell !
