"Smeargle method - a lot of people seem to be doing it wrong by spamming photos."

#PokemonGO: Niantic Support posted that photobombs happen on first photo of a group. Try this method for good chance! Most people were able to get Smeargle yesterday, although a few, like me, were frustrated after thousands of pictures. The mechanics to get Smeargle aren't fully understood but this trick may work - as long as you haven't already been photobombed and missed it!You can take a photo in AR+ or regular AR. If you are just trying to get Smeargle, do it in AR as it takes less time.Pick a Pokèmon and hit the camera icon, or start the camera via items. Smeargle's special move is "Sketch", which means he gets the move set of the Pokèmon you have taken a snapshot of. His stats are really bad so don't sweat this too much, he's likely to just be a collectible.Take an AR photo of the Pokèmon while watching the lower right corner. A single flash denotes a normal picture, a triple flash means Smeargle photobombed. The key: It appears unlikely it will take much more than 20 photos to acquire Smeargle. Take one picture, back out to the snapshot view screen, and start the process over again. Smeargle will photobomb (maybe not exclusively but quite often) on the first snapshot of a group. So grouping photos of 10 and checking, as well as spamming the photo button may be a bit too frivolous.Final note: This technique worked on 12 accounts in our local group out of 12. If it is taking you thousands of photos there is a chance you already got photobombed and your dex on next catch will show 1/2 caught. You missed the window this time!TLDR: Take an AR photo of any Pokèmon. Check bottom right corner for triple flash versus one flash. Check photo for Smeargle after clicking exit. Leave photo and go back in and repeat. Shouldn't take much more than 20 tries. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2T26cMd
