"Gen 5's top non-legendary Pokémon with the highest potential: Part 2"
#PokemonGO: In case you didn't read the first part, here it is:https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/b1rinp/gen_5s_top_nonlegendary_pok%C3%A9mon_with_the_highest/This is part 2 of an analysis I made lately of the Gen 5 Pokémon who will top the metagame if their movesets turn out to be the best possible for them.CONKELDURR https://ift.tt/2HDWmtd 243DEFENSE: 158STAMINA: 233FightingIdeal moves: Counter+ Dynamic PunchNow we're talking. All of you who praised Machamp as the best Fighting type Pokémon and one of the most useful overall, we have a new Fighting type king in the house. And his name is... Conkeldurr! (forgive me) This red-nosed hunk has more ATTACK than Breloom and is bulkier than Machamp! Conkeldurr is expected to become a meta-defining Pokémon. In case it becomes too rare, Machamp and Breloom are not far behind Conkeldurr. Let's see just how much better Conkeldurr will become.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOConkeldurrCounter+Dynamic Punch16.852501.7MachampCounter+Dynamic Punch16.211434.6BreloomCounter+Dynamic Punch16.572310.9By a moderate margin. But still it's going to be the best Fighting type in the game.EXCADRILL https://ift.tt/2Hs9KkV 255DEFENSE: 129STAMINA: 242Steel/GroundIdeal moves: Mud-Slap+Drill RunA while before Gen 4, an analysis was made of how would Rhyperior do as a Ground type if it got Drill Run instead of Earthquake. Turns out it was actually going to surpass Groudon. However, Niantic decided to give it Earthquake, so Rhyperior is not nearly as good as a Ground type as it could have been. However there is one Pokémon that could do what Rhyperior couldn't, and that is Excadrill. Let's check the numbers, shall we?PokémonMovesetDPSTDOExcadrillMud-Slap+Drill Run14.974384.6GroudonMud Shot+Earthquake13.957517.8GarchompMud Shot+Earthquake13.671501.2MamoswineMud-Slap+Bulldoze13.122376.8RhyperiorMud-Slap+Earthquake12.656478.9By a whole point in DPS, Excadrill has the edge over Groudon, on top of not being a legendary Pokémon, so no Rare Candy invested. A very solid example of how a moveset can significantly change a Pokémon's viability.VOLCARONA https://ift.tt/2HDWn0f 264DEFENSE: 189STAMINA: 198Fire/BugIdeal moves: Fire Spin+Overheat/Bug Bite+Bug BuzzOur last entrant on the list is a very versatile Pokémon. It has the potential to become the best Fire type and best Bug type Pokémon, surpassing even the likes of Moltres, surprisingly enough. This is the table that compares it to other Fire types.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOVolcaronaFire Spin+Overheat16.993512.4ChandelureFire Spin+Overheat17.129398.1Darmanitan (Standard Form)Fire Fang+Overheat17.09379.4BlazikenFire Spin+Blast Burn17.247382.8EmboarEmber+Blast Burn16.547419.1MoltresFire Spin+Overheat16.273491.4ReshiramFire Fang+Overheat17.373548.4As you can see, Blaziken and Chandelure's DPS advantages are more or less insignificant. Due to Volcarona being able to take the most hits out of any of the Fire types listed above, this makes Volcarona the second best Fire type overall and the best non-legendary representative of the Fire type pack. Now the fun doesn't stop there. Volcarona stands tall among Bug types too.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOVolcaronaBug Bite+Bug Buzz15.234459.4ScizorFury Cutter+X-Scissor13.759350PinsirBug Bite+X-Scissor14.07342.4YanmegaBug Bite+Bug Buzz13.634347.8Simply the best. No contest. Thanks so much for reading these two parts, but first, here are some honorable mentions.Unfezant: Very solid for a Pokémon that is likely going to be super common.Hydreigon: Another solid Dragon which can flex as a strong Dark type too.Bisharp: Strong Dark type that could be on par with Weavile.Haxorus: Monster base stats, but doesn't have any unique qualities to distinguish itself from other dragons. The numbers are taken from https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/comprehensive-dps-spreadsheet via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2UARQ2a
