#PokemonGO: I don't know if you knew about this, but before this update PvP used only red Pokéballs to drop the Pokémons for battle. As of now, now the appropriate Pokéball the Pokémon was caught with will be shown. (I don't have footage of the only red ball bug, but I remember clearly a Latias I used in PvP came out of a red Pokéball.
