"The 50 coin per day limit has become outdated"

#PokemonGO: With the launch of the new gym system back in 2017, a 50 coins per day limit was instituted. This was a decrease from the original gym system's cap of 100 coins per day. But, the new cap was much easier to hit and so most people were just happy to get an almost guaranteed 50 coins, as opposed to the old system's range of 10-100. This slow but steady flow of coins was enough back then. Events were few and far between and, as a result, box deals were relatively rare. Raids were still in their infancy and without shinies or Legendaries to chase, you could get by with only purchasing one-off premium raid passes every few days or so. Avatar customization options were very limited and mostly all pretty cheap. Most people back then were happy to upgrade their bag/storage space every 4 days or sometimes save up for the occasional bulk Lucky Egg package. You felt like you could keep up, because the time between feeling like you needed to purchase something was naturally longer. Now, we have events nearly every week with box deals in the shop almost 24/7. We have raids featuring the latest Legendary, or raids with raid exclusive shinies, or raids with raid exclusive shiny Legendaries (which are only available for a weekend or a week at most!). We have shiny babies causing us to burn through Incubators (or the new Super Incubators which get used up 1.5x faster!). We have the team change medallion. We have many avatar customization options (some of which you have to grind other parts of the game to even be able to purchase them!). We even have poses that cost 500 coins each! And yet, despite the addition of more and more gold sinks to the in-game economy, we are still stuck with that slow and steady trickle of 50 coins per day. If a F2P player wanted to buy an Ultra or Adventure box (because, let's face it, these are the only boxes worth buying), they would have to save up for 30 days straight! That's a month of playing enough every day to ensure you get your 50 coins, which isn't always easy or even in your control. And then you get a box of items that you could easily blow through in a few days. And then it is back to saving up again for another month. All the while, potentially missing out on maximizing the bonuses from two, maybe three, events. And if you want to upgrade your storage or bag space? Or buy a small article of clothing? Or, god forbid, a pose? That's going to set you back a week or more.TL;DRPut simply, the 50 coins limit is out dated. It needs to be raised. I would prefer that instead of just giving us more coins via gym defense, Niantic come up with other ways we can earn coins (PvP battles, friend interactions, attacking gyms, etc.). But if that is too difficult to balance or whatever, then just doubling the amount we can get in a day from gym defense would be fine. If you could earn 100 coins per day, then you would be able to afford an Ultra box every two weeks, which seems reasonable for a dedicated F2P player. That's often enough to feel like you can get the most out of events with maybe the occasional splurge on storage upgrades or cosmetics. Please Niantic, loosen the purse strings a little and give us ways to earn more coins per day. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2UFLYcd
