"Korean PoGo event (Week in Korea) thoughts"
#PokemonGO: So today i went to the PoGo event in COEX, Seoul. The place is packed on weekends normally, but this time was something special. For starters, this weekend was 3 days long, including Children's Day, a national holiday here. It was also right after college midterms finished, and there were multiple other events going on at COEX such as a world food festival, a craft beer event, an outdoors cinema, a fashion festival, and probably a few others that i didn't manage to see.The place was absolutely packed. Glancing around, you could see tons of people playing PoGo, the lines to get into the Pokemon Pop-up store were 2+ hours long, and the lines to take a picture with the detective pikachu costumes were also super long. The pikachu parades were also hilariously cute (there was even a ditto pika mixed in!) and you could hear shouts of "It's here!" and such whenever you were near an unown spawn.Speaking of unown, we got SEOUL. Or as i've heard somebody say, "U LOSE" lol. Spawn rates were decent, not super high but a couple of hours was enough to nab them all. Corsolas were common; i got around dozen from just quick-catching them. And the shinies were notably boosted. I got 3 (shellder, roselia, poochyena) while i was at the place, but i got another shellder and psyduck on the bus home, so that boost seemingly applies to the whole of Seoul. The only cons i felt were the sheer number of people, and that the place being largely underground messed with my GPS a good bit. Pretty good experience all in all, my gf who is new to PoGo said she had a lot of fun, and we're planning to go to the other place (Hanam) too when we have the chance.Ps. In case anybody is going, Hanam apparently had a lot less stops and spawns than COEX today, so pokemon korea tweeted out that they would be boosting both for Hanam beginning tomorrow. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2DPlF8P
