"Only clear backpacks allowed at Chicago Go Fest (email from niantic support)"
#PokemonGO: I decided to email Pokemon Go support regarding the use of clear backpacks at go fest, since on their webpage it does not say that they are the ONLY type of backpack allowed. Apparently we are only allowed to bring clear backpacks. Last year it said the same thing but I saw many people without clear backpacks and no such enforcement, but I'm too chicken to risk not bringing one (at least I do have one from last year, theyre just a pain in the butt to pack since they cant really be folded or squished). Here is their response with the message I sent underneath:RavenMay 03, 2019, 22:37 -0700Hi Trainer,Thank you for reaching out to us and for playing Pokémon GO.Clear BackPack means Transparent BackPack which makes the items visible that you carry. You can carry only Clear Bags to the Chicago Go Fest.If you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.Thank you, From Niantic SupportMay 03, 2019, 14:54 -0700Hi, I just had a question regarding the rules about backpacks for Go Fest Chicago and wanted clarification. Under the "allowed" items section it lists "clear backpacks" as long as they are no bigger than standard school size and do not have frames. However I do not see it mentioned anywhere that clear backpacks are REQUIRED. Does this mean I can use a standard backpack that is NOT clear (like a canvas Jansport for example) while at Go Fest Chicago as long as it does not have a frame? Thank you in advance for your reply. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2JfoIuu
