"Compilation of reported things about the Team Rocket invasion"

#PokemonGO: I combed through a bunch of the recently posted threads and dumped the info into a text document. No idea if this is right at all since it's all secondhand (no invaded stops near me yet), I was too lazy to link sources for most of it, and I'm about to go for a walk so I won't be updating it, but here's what other people have posted about the Team Rocket invasion.Known facts about TR Invasion-Invaded stops are visible on the overworld map as a darker shade of blue + a flickering effect-When in range of an invaded stop, it turns black and a Team Rocket grunt appears on the overworld-Invaded stops are consistent for all players above some level threshold (edit: According to the official website, level 8+: https://ift.tt/32MLEZi stops CAN spawn outside of raiding hours (reports of spawns after 10pm in some areas) (edit: debatable, apparently raid hours are pretty wack in some places but details are pretty fuzzy either way)-Stops despawn after some amount of time (reports of 30 minute timers)-Spinning an invaded stop (edit: or tapping on the team rocket grunt) activates a battle with a Team Rocket grunt (no automatic heal afterwards, must use potions)-As long as you activate the battle, you do not need to be in range of the Pokestop while battling-Defeating the grunt earns you the chance to catch a shadow Pokemon (using Premier balls)-Premier balls earned are based on number of Pokemon remaining and two new medals (Hero, Purifier)-Currently available shadow Pokemon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Rattata, Zubat-Shadow Pokemon spawn at level 1-5 (or 6-10 with weather boost)-Shadow Pokemon cost triple dust/double(?) candy to power up and have the charged move Frustration (which is pretty bad?)-Purified Pokemon have Return as a charged move and retain this move upon evolution (edit: apparently you cannot TM away from Return/Frustration, the game gives you the "Are you sure?" prompt and then doesn't change the move or consume your TM. Adding a charge move pulls from the Pokemon's usual movepool)-Purify Pokemon using the option on the Pokemon screen, above "Power up". Costs stardust and candy-Purified Pokemon cost 90% dust and reduced candy (also 90%?) for powerup/evolution (different discounts for new charge move?)-Pokemon get a level and IV boost when purified - preliminary evidence suggests +2/+2/+2 to IVs, level boost to 25-Pokedex now has a counter for "Purified" but not for shadow-Shadow/Purified Pokemon can be traded. Unregistered shadow Pokemon count as special trades even though the Pokedex doesn't have a counter for them. (one unverified comment suggests that all purified/shadow pokemon are special trades, hopefully someone can confirm this)-Purified Pokemon may consume a special trade even though they cost 75 dust (unverified)-No evidence of a lucky shadow/purified Pokemon yet, though it's probably just a matter of time. (edit: Lucky shadow/purified Pokemon have been confirmed, purifying a lucky shadow Pokemon is a very high chance of perfect)-Stardust discount stacks for lucky/purified Pokemon-Shiny shadow/purified Pokemon exist (oh god no) (edit: still only one report? grain of salt)-Shadow and Purified Pokemon can be placed in gyms.-Shadow/Purified Pokemon can be mass transferred, and do not give a warning when being transferred.-Shadow/Purified Pokemon cannot be transferred to Let's Go-Spinning an invaded stop with Go+ seems to cause some unexpected behavior. (anecdotal, unspecific)-Bug: some people have the game crash when spinning an invaded stop, and the Pokestop vanishes entirely upon restart. Vanished stop is still accessible via Go+, or if you move away from the stop and come back after a few minutes.-If having issues, uninstall/reinstall can help resolve some bugs caused by invaded stops (not ideal but niantic)edit: People in the comments have found all kinds of fun stuff about the new mechanics. I'm probably not going to have the time to actively update/organize this post, but there's plenty of interesting things in this thread. Thanks for adding on your observations here, y'all! via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2YjGh4A
