"Pokémon Go is helping me become a better healthier me!"
#PokemonGO: Day One player here. Launch day came around and me and my fellows were stoked. The three of us have been inseparable since birth 26 years ago.We grew up playing Pokémon and many other franchises. But Pokémon was the common link.Day One was a disaster and a disappointment, our city is pretty small by all accounts and you have to drive an hour just to get to a decent place with Pokestops (our town had 3. Total.) and between work and other obligations that was rarely an option. So after about a week of catching the odd Pidgey or Caterpie (spawn rates were so low an hour of walking maybe yielded two or three of the extremely basic Pokémon)So we all hung up our Mystic Badges and said oh well, the luck of living in a small town.Fast forward to almost two weeks ago. I hear rumblings that Pokémon Go is alive and well and our area is doing great. So I get curious and download again. Sure enough, our town has at least 25 Pokestops and multitudes of Gyms. The cherry on top being so many new Pokémon have been released and I can stroll down the road and catch any number of new and exciting Pokémon! The meat of this story is how it’s helping me with my fitness, since I put down PoGo I’ve gained around 100 Lbs, mainly unhealthy body fat, too much soda and unhealthy eating. I’m a month into a new diet plan but it’s only working some. In the past two weeks alone I’ve hit my 50km Goal each week and this week I’m at 75km. I got in from my route today and finally decided to step on the scale.280 down to 250!I’ve been pushing and driving myself to sweat and pick up the pace. I jokingly tell myself in my head “if you run instead of walk you can spawn more Pokémon to catch!” And being the nerd I am it’s payed off.Pokémon Go is helping me take my health and my fitness back! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/300nYyI
