"Buddies should grow like friends"

#PokemonGO: Set up the buddy system similar to the friend system. The longer a Pokémon is your buddy, the higher your friendship level goes, and with it the distance needed to find candies gets reduced. Maybe add in other boosts like sometimes finding random items or stardust.It would lessen the slog of when you need to get a bunch of candy for a single Pokémon with high kms. Maybe bar legendaries from it to avoid making them too powerful easily, but everything else would be like the games.
