"[discussion] CD spawn changes possibly/probably intentional"

#PokemonGO: Just finished CD on USA east coast. Can attest to the following:CD spawns outside of parks have been severely nerfedCD spawns inside parks were just as good as before (or perhaps even slightly better). Nest spawns disappeared completely during the 3 hours.lures at parks = good trapinch spawns (EDIT: debatable per other players’ experience - more evidence needed). Lures outside parks = poor trapinch spawns.does not seem to depend on old vs new spawn points, at least at my location.I am beginning to think this is a deliberate change instead of a screw-up, for the following reasons:North American CD have the same issues, after Niantic dev’s supposedly have woken up for the day. This could be niantic’s answer to the constant call by this community and others to beef up park spawns/encourage people to play in parks instead of on the streets.I am not saying this is the right solution. In fact, it’s not a well thought out decision for the following reasons:Encouraging should not require forcing (everyone to play inside parks). Beefing up park spawns? Yes. Everyone can agree on this. But nerfing everything else to the ground is uncalled for, and is the opposite of good game balance. Some areas may not have parks large enough to make for a worthwhile CD. Many players are dependent on shopping malls (among other things) to have an enjoyable spawn density. Not to mention indoor grind spots are a practical fallback option for many, when the weather is too harsh for outdoor play. Niantic should understand that good games give players options, instead of taking them away.I would imagine having CD spawns everywhere (the old way) is better for Niantic too - people buy and use lures to light up entire cities. In this new regime, there’s no incentive to use lures and incenses outside of parks. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2MboZQg
