"The Formula for "Should I Shoot for Great Throws or Excellent Throws?" When it Comes to Raid Bosses"

#PokemonGO: (I apologize if this has been posted before - I was able to find many similar posts, but not quite what I intend to convey in this post). The average catch multiplier for a great throw is 1.5, and the average catch multiplier for an excellent throw is 1.825. This means that the average excellent throw is roughly 22% "better" than the average great throw (regarding the catch multiplier).1/1.21667 = 0.82191Tl;dr: this means that if for every 5 excellent throws that you attempt, you only succeed at 4 of them (or less), then you are better off shooting for great throws. If you tend to succeed with excellent throws at a ratio of 5 out of 6 (or higher), then you are ever so slightly better off shooting for excellent throws. If anyone disagrees with my mathematics, please let me know what I did wrong / what you think I might have done wrong. I hope this helps!Edit: I forgot to take into consideration the ratio of great throw attempts you are unsuccessful at. Let's say you make 9 out of 10 great throw attempts - I think you would take that 82% figure and drop it down to 82 - (82/10) = 73.8. 73.8% So closer to 3 out of 4 for that example. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2MZADgl
