"[Update] Cracking the Rocket CP formula -- Almost done, but still need data from Lv. 29 and below"

#PokemonGO: I want to make an update to my previous post with a lot of new findings after sampling 600+ unique Shadow Pokemon CPs to determine how a Team Rocket's CP scales up with Trainer level. To recap, this was the formula that was determined thanks to /u/dondon151 on this thread:CP = floor(Attack * sqrt(Defense) * sqrt(HP) / 10)whereAttack = 4 * (baseAttack + 15) * rCPMDefense = 2 * (baseDefense + 15) * rCPMHP = (2 * floor(0.5 * baseHP) + 14) * rCPMAnd if you're facing a Team Leader, multiply all the above by x1.2. If against Giovanni, multiply by x1.25.rCPM is a CP multiplier unique to Team GO Rocket members, and it scales directly with the player's level. I have been sampling Rocket CPs of lower level accounts to determine their precise values, and here is what we have:LevelrCPMSamples+/- Error400.6325101830.00000039390.6152435280.00000167380.6046494210.00000214370.5932984350.00000066360.582345890.000002350.5699954250.00000086340.558385280.00000077330.5451508390.00000007320.5336423220.00000025310.5201017250.00000425300.5102442710.0000004829(0.4979859)00.01225835280.4857275150.0000034270.474096860.00002157260.4647231300.00000165250.452934790.00000822240.440022650.00001253230.4268733110.00000523220.412600650.00001256210.39732530.0000272220(0.3789178)00.0184072519(0.3605105)00.0184072518(0.3421033)00.01840725170.32369610.00003681160.3023914140.00001047150.2875888120.00000613140.2691698140.00000185130.2539815260.00000426120.2321474250.00000154110.2223658280.00000195100.1951274170.0000091190.169947580.0000247680.140221890.00004342Entries in bold have such a small margin of error it's assumed to always yield the correct CP in calculations. Entries in (parenthesis) have been extrapolated due to no samples. If you have CPs recorded from these levels, especially Lv. 29, sharing it would be much appreciated./u/celandro and I have been trying to determine any patterns or formulas that may be used to determine rCPM, but have so far not yielded anything conclusive... yet. However, here are some things we did notice:rCPM is extremely close to scaling linearly with Trainer level, with kinks starting at Lv 12 and Lv 22.When plotted on graphs (one each for Lv 8-11, Lv 12-21, and Lv 22-40 against respective rCPMs), we got linear R^2 values of 0.999 or higherHowever, it was still impossible to draw any straight line that falls within the margin of error for every level. It may possibly be a result of some rounding they use, but still unsure. It's also nice to note that even for the higher margin of error entries, these numbers may only mispredict a few Shadow Pokemon's CP by no more than literally a couple CP. This means that in terms of breakpoints, these numbers will hold true 99.9%+ of the time. At higher levels (Lv 30+), the samples are larger so our errors are smaller, and at the lowest levels, Rocket Pokemon are so weak the strongest can still be 2HKO'ed by a Research reward's Fast Attacks (the CP 600 Sableye was surprisingly reliable from Lv 8 to 15). Once enough data comes in, these numbers will eventually be used for Pokebattler's Rocket sims. This spreadsheet contains all the raw data collected to determine the rCPMs. If you have an account whose Lv is that of something we have very small samples of (esp Lv 29), please help us out by noting some Rocket CPs during your travels. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/35FnWyY
