"December 11 Patch Notes: Clarified"

#PokemonGO: Because I detest messy/vague patch notes, I've taken the new move update, sorted it, and added concrete numbers (taken from Gamepress). I've also included a list of new movesets by Pokedex #, and a few quick notes on the biggest impacts of these changes. (I'm not a professional PvPer so please don't take my analyses to heart.)Please let me know if any errors sneaked in.GENERAL PVP CHANGESCMP (charged move priority) ties are now won by the Pokemon with a higher Attack stat, rather than based on how the match was initiated. Ties are resolved randomly.Swapping Pokemon removes any positive or negative changes to Attack and Defense.PVE FAST MOVE CHANGESMud-Slap: Damage increased from 15 to 18 (DPS 10.71 to 12.86)PVE CHARGE MOVE CHANGESEarthquake: Damage increased from 120 to 140 (DPS 33.3 to 38.9)PVP FAST MOVE CHANGESMud-Slap: Damage increased from 9 to 11 (DPS 6 to 8.33)PVP CHARGE MOVE CHANGESClose Combat: Energy decreased from 60 to 45 (DPE 1.67 to 2.22), added 100% chance to decrease user's Defense (2 stages)Draco Meteor: Energy decreased from 75 to 65 (DPE 2 to 2.31), added 100% chance to decrease user's Attack (2 stages?)Frustration: Energy increased from 40 to 70 (DPE 0.25 to 0.14)Hydro Cannon: Damage decreased from 90 to 80 (DPE 2.25 to 2)Icy Wind: Added 100% chance to decrease target's Attack (1 stage?)Night Slash: Energy decreased from 40 to 35 (DPE 1.25 to 1.43), added ??% chance to increase user's Attack (2 stages?)Overheat: Damage decreased from 150 to 130, energy decreased from 80 to 55 (DPE 1.88 to 2.36), added 100% chance to decrease user's Attack (2 stages?)Psycho Boost: Energy decreased from 40 to 35 (DPE 1.75 to 2), added 100% chance to decrease user's Attack (2 stages?)Return: Damage increased from 50 to 130, energy increased from 40 to 70 (DPE 1.25 to 1.86)Sand Tomb: Damage decreased from 80 to 25, energy decreased from 60 to 40 (DPE 1.33 to 0.63), added 100% chance to decrease target's Defense (1 stage)NEW PVE CHARGE MOVESAura Sphere: Fighting, power 90, 2 bars (DPS 50)Fell Stinger: Bug, power 50, 3 bars (DPS 22.73)Mirror Shot: Steel, power 50, 3 bars (DPS 20.83)Octazooka: Water, power 50, 2 bars (DPS 21.74)Superpower: Fighting, power 85, 2 bars (DPS 28.33)NEW PVP CHARGE MOVESAura Sphere: Fighting, power 100, energy 55 (DPE 1.82)Fell Stinger: Bug, power 20, energy 35 (DPE 0.57), 30% chance to decrease target's Attack (1 stage)Mirror Shot: Steel, power 35, energy 35 (DPE 1), 30% chance to decrease target's Defense (1 stage)Octazooka: Water, power 50, energy 50 (DPE 1), 50% chance to decrease target's Attack (2 stages)Superpower: Fighting, power 85, energy 40 (DPE 2.13), 100% chance to decrease user's Attack and Defense (1 stage)ADDED TO MOVE POOL (new move, re-added legacy move)15 Beedrill: Fell Stinger (Charge)59 Arcanine: Flamethrower (Charge)62 Poliwrath: Mud Shot (Fast)68 Machamp: Cross Chop (Charge)76 Golem: Ancient Power (Charge)91 Cloyster: Icy Wind (Charge)94 Gengar: Shadow Claw (Fast)103 Exeggutor: Confusion (Fast)127 Pinsir: Superpower (Charge), Fury Cutter (Fast)130 Gyarados: Dragon Breath (Fast), Twister (Charge)143 Snorlax: Superpower (Charge), Body Slam (Charge)149 Dragonite: Dragon Breath (Fast), Dragon Claw (Charge)160 Feraligatr: Ice Fang (Charge)205 Forretress: Sand Tomb (Charge), Mirror Shot (Charge)211 Qwilfish: Fell Stinger (Charge)224 Octillery: Octazooka (Charge)230 Kingdra: Octazooka (Charge)233 Porygon2: Lock-On (Fast)251 Celebi: Seed Bomb (Charge)275 Shiftry: Snarl (Fast)297 Hariyama: Superpower (Charge)382 Kyogre: Surf (Charge)389 Torterra: Sand Tomb (Charge)416 Vespiquen: Fell Stinger (Charge)445 Garchomp: Sand Tomb (Charge)448 Lucario: Aura Sphere (Charge)452 Drapion: Fell Stinger (Charge)462 Magnezone: Mirror Shot (Charge)463 Lickilicky: Shadow Ball (Charge)464 Rhyperior: Superpower (Charge)465 Tangrowth: Power Whip (Charge)472 Gliscor: Sand Tomb (Charge)474 Porygon-Z: Lock-On (Fast)485 Heatran: Flamethrower (Charge)508 Stoutland: Ice Fang (Charge)598 Ferrothorn: Mirror Shot (Charge)601: Klinklang: Mirror Shot (Charge)809: Melmetal: Superpower (Charge)PVE RAMIFICATIONSAura Sphere sends Lucario to the top of the Fighting-type rankings (18.6 DPS, to Machamp's 16.2 and Conkeldurr's 16.8). RIP Conkeldurr.Ground-types are overall more powerful. Excadrill with Drill Run leads (15.9 DPS), closely followed by Groudon (15.3), Garchomp (15), and Rhyperior (14.9). Therian Landorus (17.3) will still be king though.Surf is Kyogre's new best move at 16.4 DPS, beating Hydro Pump's 15.9. Kingler is still king at 16.9, but the gap has closed.Power Whip is Tangrowth's new best move at 14.4 DPS, beating Solar Beam at 13.9. Still worse than Roserade.Shadow Claw Gengar is back! Unfortunately Giratina and Darkrai means it's not in demand as it once was.Don't expect Mirror Shot, Fell Stinger, or Octazooka to make any impact in PvE. Superpower is inferior to DP on Hariyama.PVP RAMIFICATIONSHydro Cannon's nerf makes Swampert (and Blastoise) sad. One more reason to use Whiscash instead this Silph Cup.Return now serves the complete opposite function, going from spammy to a Hydro Pump-esque "big gun". This actually shouldn't nerf Timeless Cup Dragonair too much, since it already had a very spammy skill in Aqua Tail. Now it can bait with AT and use Return in place of Dragon Pulse as a shields-down finisher.Because swapping wipes all stat changes, stat-lowering skills like Overheat, Superpower, and Close Combat could be good. Your swap button changes from a "get me out of this matchup" to a "rest up after blowing my charge move". Notably, Ninetales finally got an interesting alternative to legacy Flamethrower.Octazooka offers Kingdra a coin flip of severely lowering it's opponent's Attack, and at 50 energy can sort of bait?Sand Tomb is now like Acid Spray, but only 1 Defense stage and lower energy/higher power. Could make Torterra into an interesting Razor Leafer?Mud Shot was a high-demand move for Poliwrath, so many players will be glad to see it back.Lickilicky (lolwut) could conceivably be good in a ghost-heavy Silph cup, with a double Ghost moveset and double-resisting other ghosts.Lock-On is a great move, so it's a buff to the Porys. Unfortunately you can't get Return on a Great-legal P2 or PZ. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2REQIMt
