"Serious Question: Will we ever be able to actually own our pokemon?"
#PokemonGO: Let me just get right down to it: If this game doesn't last forever, which it assumedly will not, will there ever be a way for us to own the pokemon we have worked so hard to get? Thousands of hours, thousands of dollars later... Niantic ultimately owns my data and has the right to do whatever they want with it, right? I know that there's certain stuff now like Pokemon Sword & Shield as well as Pokemon Home soon where we are able to transfer stuff from GO to there, but can that even be locally stored? These countless money grabs lately have made me worried about the game's longevity. Don't get me wrong -- the memories, friends, and experiences I have had will never fade and I am very thankful for the game for that reason. But I have an emotional attachment to what I have worked very hard to achieve, as would most people. I really really hope that in the future we will be able to keep all of our favorite pokemon, potentially even for the rest of our lives, so we will have reminders of the good times we had once we get older. Will I have to accept losing it all in the longrun? What is even the point of this being a collector's game if we can't collect and keep our stuff forever? Any input would be appreciated :X. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2VvFPOU
